About the app
FieldNav is a tactical navigation instrument for your phone, designed as a serious piece of field equipment rather than a toy. It shows your position in multiple coordinate systems (MGRS, UTM, DMS, latitude/longitude), with accuracy, altitude, heading, and military time format (DTG). The interface is dark, legible, and monospace, featuring a night mode to protect night vision.
A real UTM/MGRS grid is overlaid on the map (OpenStreetMap, Esri topo, and satellite imagery); you can add waypoints (from GPS fix, manually via MGRS, through bearing+distance projection, or by pointing on the map), build routes with segments (distance and bearing), record tracks, and export them to GPX. GPX/KML/CSV import and export are supported, as well as offline maps from user-uploaded MBTiles files. Magnetic declination is calculated using the full WMM2025 model.
FieldNav is a one-time purchase app — no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases. It requires no account or login, and all user data (waypoints, routes, tracks, settings) remains locally on the device.
